Recycling cart repair – Free repairs of our recycling carts will begin Jan. 29, 2024 and is expected to last for several months. Please call the Winona County Environmental Services office directly at 507-457-6462 if your cart needs a new lid, new wheels etc. There is no cost or fee for fixes or replacements made to recycling carts. Test your well – The Minnesota Department of Health urges rural residents to test their wells – a recent press release offers details on how. Nitrate contamination is at dangerous levels in many southeastern wells, so much so that the Environmental Protection Agency has intervened at the request of state organizations. Other common contaminants include coliform bacteria and arsenic.
